Sarah Palin’s Latest Fancy Washington Post Op-Ed Piece is Predictably Retarded

Oh Jesus…The Washington Post has once again given Trixie Klondyke, Alaskan Warrior Princess, a woman who believes dinosaurs and humans roamed the earth together, editorial space to “debunk” a scientific theory she has an issue with. They might as well let Carrot Top opine about Obama’s plan for winning the war in Afghanistan.

Predictably, Palin uses her op-ed piece to make the argument that the recent “climategate” scandal, in which emails emerged showing that a few environmental scientists considered suppressing data not friendly to the cause of environmental activists, proves that all global warming science is junk and we can all just keep chugging along in our fossil fuel-burning SUVs and BBQ’s weiners over burning plastic in the backyard and so forth.

This scandal obviously calls into question the proposals being pushed in Copenhagen. I’ve always believed that policy should be based on sound science, not politics. As governor of Alaska, I took a stand against politicized science when I sued the federal government over its decision to list the polar bear as an endangered species despite the fact that the polar bear population had more than doubled. I got clobbered for my actions by radical environmentalists nationwide, but I stood by my view that adding a healthy species to the endangered list under the guise of “climate change impacts” was an abuse of the Endangered Species Act. This would have irreversibly hurt both Alaska’s economy and the nation’s, while also reducing opportunities for responsible development.

Polar bears! Fuck ‘em! Drill baby drill! And then she really goes rogue…

But while we recognize the occurrence of these natural, cyclical environmental trends, we can’t say with assurance that man’s activities cause weather changes. We can say, however, that any potential benefits of proposed emissions reduction policies are far outweighed by their economic costs. And those costs are real.

Um, WRONG! Science has shown time and time again that the climate changes we’ve seen over the last 20 years are waaaaaay out of the ordinary and are most definitely linked to chemical emissions into the atmosphere. No truly reasonable and rational person can dispute this, which is why the disputing is usually left to the Jesus Freaks like Palin who believe God made the earth for humans to shit all over without consequence.

Don’t you love it when people whose lives revolve around the belief in a jealous, vengeful, all-seeing, all-knowing, all-powerful God living up in the clouds, a belief based solely on ancient folk tales that are thousands of years old, attempt to slam any popular modern scientific theory as a sham because it’s based on what they believe is “flimsy” evidence? The irony just fucking kills me.

Bill O'Reilly: Let me be very bold and fresh again, do you believe that you are smart enough, incisive enough, intellectual enough to handle the most powerful job in the world?

Sarah Palin: I believe that I am because I have common sense and I have I believe the values that I think are reflective of so many other American values, and I believe that what Americans are seeking is not the elitism, the uhm, the ah, a kind of spineless, spinelessness that perhaps is made up for that with some kind of elite, Ivy league education and, and a fat resume that is based on anything but hard work and private sector, free enterprise principles. Americans are could be seeking something like that in positive change in their leadership, I'm not saying that that has to be me.
