Last summer, it was the bloody beach blankets of New Zealand. Now, this past weekend on the popular Bondi Beach, Australia’s Cancer Council laid out this cemetery of towels featuring dead body chalk outline designs and the message “don’t be a victim.” It was an intrusive Ad Creep promoting National Skin Cancer Action Week. The disease kills over 1,700 Aussies every year, their country being very beachy and hot as fucking hell. Predictably, the stunt garnered plenty of local TV coverage. No report on whether beach goers got to keep the towels. For a close-up shot of the terror towels, jump for the corresponding cheesy TV spot. Campaign by Euro RSCG.
