Look, I think we can all agree that Barack Obama winning the Nobel Peace Prize today was sort of ridiculous. I mean, there are many more who’ve done more to promote peace and unity in the world who haven’t won the award. But for wingnut talking heads to use his winning the award as another sadly predictable excuse to ridicule the president, it’s just…fucking disgusting. Case in point…Media Matters put together a great mashup of the usual suspects braying nonsensically to their flock of “real American” dipshits.

Maybe you should look at the awards in physics, science, economics, literature, etc, the organization's website and wiki explains that
"Nobel's will provides for prizes to be awarded in recognition for discoveries made "during the preceding year"
Which cheapens the prize, its not a prize for HOPE, or a prize that considers anything that occurs during the deliberation process. I discovery that cures cancer, aids, etc would still be important, but only viable for the next selection process.

Now every bomb that drops, every troop surge, every gitmo abuse, every and any option that is not peace will label him a hyprocrite. Sure Bush was a warmonger, but he was up front about his warmongering. Any action that doesnt equal the dictionary definition of Peace will knock Obama off the pedastal. Sure the rightwing warmongers and looneys also want War, they still get their wish with the bonus of calling Obama a BS artist.
Perhaps thats the point, Obama has not achieved or really made any overtures toward peace other than speeches, his actions have not done anything other than expand and continue Bush/Cheney doctrine setting the stage in 2012 for another republican warmonger with an even greater evil agenda that will put our domesetic security and standing in the world at jeporady.
