In celebration of Hello Kitty’s 35th anniversary, Sanrio is continuing the cartoon cat’s unabashed branding tradition with a themed art show. “Three Apples,†named after the Japanese cartoon’s weight, will feature Hello Kitty-promoting art by Gary Baseman, Ron English, Buff Monster and Natalia Fabia among a slew of other popular artists. The celebration will naturally feature a Hello Kitty retail shop, as well as a “cosplay†maid café, when it opens at Royal/T in Culver City, California from October 23rd to November 15th. Preview a part of the exhibition after the jump.
