A trio of computer-savvy Berliners is breaking down buildings and reassembling them in unnatural ways. The result is “Extracts of Local Distance,” a collection of unconstructable collages made from the details of architectural photos that have been “analyzed and categorized according to their vanishing-point and shapes.” The best part is that the process is automated, allowing creators Frederic Gmeienr, Torsten Posselt & Benjamin Maus to continually churn out new compositions and experiments without much extra effort.
