One-hundred and forty-six year-old Bayer AG is the third largest pharmaceutical company in the world. It’s pretty safe for us to presume that amongst their 106,000 global employees, we could find a brilliant scientist or two who would raise a question or two about the dubious (translated to English) message of this ad campaign for Aspirin plus vitamin C. Or somebody in Bayer’s marketing department (or someone at ad agency Graffiti BBDO in Bucharest, Romania) maybe could have contacted a leading paleontologist and discussed the popular theories as to why the dinosaurs perished— none of which involves the cold virus…it’s just the latest egregious case of animal ad abuse. Jump for a second ad featuring a cute, scaly extinct something-or-other.
