1_nyc040109_3 The buzz killing DEA busted a popular Bronx pizza parlor that doubled as a cocaine distribution center on Tuesday. In addition to pies, John’s Pizza was delivering various denominations of blow to dealers throughout NYC and even Connecticut. Orders were prepared and organized out of the pizza place which was strategically located within a few blocks of additional stash houses. After a 10-month investigation, federal agents only seized about nine kilos, 4 tiny handguns, and a measly $20,000 in cash. Still, Special Agent-In-Charge, John P. Gilbride, offered up this punny, ready-made quote for the media:

“Using their pizza shop as a front for drug trafficking, the dough that this organization made was not from the sale of pizza but rather illegal narcotics. Through concentrated law enforcement efforts this organization’s brick ovens have been shut down.”
