A report released by the State Board of Equalization says revenue generated from taxing and regulating pot like alcohol or tobacco could “generate nearly $1.4 billion” a year. Tax officials based this figure on charging a “$50-per-ounce fee,” which means Californians smoke a lot of chronic, nearly 19,800,000 ounces or 1,237,500 pounds annually. |AP|
