Following their rejected bid to hire uniformed off-duty cops for patrols, the Coalition for a Better Washington Square Park is focusing on kicking drummers out of the newly renovated public space. Gil Horowitz, presiding officer of the largely anonymous group of nearby co-op boards and NYU, complains that the park percussionists are making ordinary tasks impossible: “People near the park can’t eat their dinner or play at home with their children.†|The Villager|
