Puzzling public service poster placed in Bushwick, one of the poorer NYC neighborhoods. I didn’t text the number, but this is apparently an ad—paid for in-part I guess by Kaplan—for the non-profit pre-school literacy organization Jumpstart. I guess they’re looking for volunteers and donations, in which case, this is far from the ideal location (Upper West Side?) for this jumblegram advert. At the Jumpstart website, you’re met with a corresponding banner ad—I (heart) RAEDNIG—which invites you to take a short quiz on your knowledge of illiteracy. My knowledge is limited, but I think placing an ad that kinda mocks illiterates in a NYC neighborhood with a higher percentage of illiterate people isn’t the smartest move.
