America’s favorite blind governor says that, despite Obama’s efforts to get him to do otherwise, he is running to hold onto the office he inherited after Eliot Spitzer’s hooker-nailing proclivities were revealed to the world. Asked about it by the New York Times, Paterson said, “I am running for governor right now. I have no idea — I am a candidate for governor.†Yep, that sounds about right. |New York Times|

It is true–President Obama and his administration are surely more than unhappy at this point. Paterson's approval ratings are at an all-time low, and Rudy Guiliani will certainly win the title of New York's governor if Paterson goes ahead and runs. And it looks like he is planning to do just that, despite the White House's request for him to step down. Today, it was even decided he can name a Lieutenant Governor (for New York). Interesting stuff.
There's a short, well-made video on this at newsy.com. The video explains the political awkwardness surrounding Paterson and shows a few different perspectives on the issue. It's worth checking out if you have a few minutes:

There are so many different ways to describe this topic, but I think you chose the best one. Excellent work.
