000797964 Jane Hoffman, president of the Mayor’s Alliance for NYC’s Animals, released a statement supporting the ASPCA and their murderously humane treatment of Oreo, the female pit bull with a slight chip on her shoulder, who was euthanized last Friday despite pleas from the public and an animal sanctuary to take the dog in.

With lots of people pissed off, Hoffman wants to remind them of all the good the ASPCA does and not to let other potential pets suffer just because you don’t agree with their latest death sentence. In fact, she thinks you should all stop whining and get off your ass and honor the dead canine by adopting another one from her executioners:

“Please honor Oreo’s memory by visiting one of the three AC&C Animal Care Centers or the ASPCA Adoption Center, or any one of the 160 Mayor’s Alliance partner rescue groups or shelters and adopting one or more of the many wonderful animals anxiously waiting for new homes. Save one of those lives.”

For the sake of the animals — in your sorrow and anger over a tragedy — do not throw the baby out with the bathwater. The ASPCA deserves and needs your support.”
