Printing flesh on fabric, Elia Alba sews her work with wire to turn photographic portraits into sculptures. Poised on pedestals to “emulate presentations of classical art and artifacts,” these eerie life-size images will be exhibited by the artist next month. “Busts,” featuring 30 of these wired works, will open at Chelsea’s Black and White Gallery in December.

“Busts,” December 10 – January 17, 2010, Black and White Gallery, 636 West 28th Street
