It’s the holidays, so you know what that means…it’s time for the MTA to bend us all over and dick us balls-deep. Who’s getting dicked hardest this time around? Children! And people who ride the W and Z trains.
The perpetually mismanaged agency recently discovered that they’re missing $400-million and, to make up the difference, is eliminating free rides to students and will force all of them to pay half fares, a move that will probably cost parents of local children around $1000 per year, per child. Additionally, the W and Z lines will be eliminated altogether, while the G and M lines will be shortened.
I’d bitch about this a bit but I don’t think it’s even worth it anymore. Besides, Keith Olbermann did a pretty good job bitching about it during his “Worst Persons” segment last night…
