L'Atlas in Washington Square Park

In town for a solo show that opens tomorrow night, L’Atlas drew one of his geometric designs in Washington Square Park yesterday. The French street artist spent hours on his hands and knees, shading the chalk maze with the help of a friend and the occasional passerby. It’s the first time he created a large public piece in such an impermanent medium and L’Atlas said he enjoyed the idea of today’s stormy weather mixing with the chalk and eventually erasing it completely.
