While the city of Bristol tries to save their favorite vandalism, London’s Hackney Council couldn’t care less. Trespassing clean up crews recently started buffing a beloved Banksy mural before the building owner stepped in to stop them. The Council defended their vandalism of the eight-year-old Royal Family painting, saying that their job “is not to make a judgement call on whether graffiti is art or not,” only to “keep Hackney’s streets clean,” and pointing out that they issued the owner three warnings, all mailed to the wrong address. |Hackney Gazette|
