While Michael Jackson fans will have countless opportunities to buy pieces of memorabilia and ephemera in the coming months, today is the pop star’s first posthumous auction. At Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas, Julien’s Auctions opens its Summer Sale featuring Jackson’s drawing of young boy (estimated at $1500 to $2000), a crude Mickey Mouse painting owned by David Gest (estimated at $1000 to $1500), and a Swarovski-crystal covered shirt from the King of Pop’s Victory tour (estimated at $1000 to $1500), among other celebrity connected items.

I think these prices will jump 10 fold in the next few weeks. Most stores are sold out of anything related to Michael Jackson. Now most will head to their favorite auction site.
