The skirmishes between the Hasidic community and cyclists continue with word that two people were arrested this morning by the Jewish secret police force for attempting to paint bike lanes on Bedford Avenue. Fresh air advocates and cyclists alike are still unhappy over the religious cult’s lobbying efforts, that resulted in the DOT removing 14 blocks of the bike lanes in South Williamsburg. At least the neighborhood has been safeguarded from all those athletically dressed who caused all these problems in the first place.

I kind of hoped that Bloomberg's promise to "review" the Williamsburg bike lanes was hollow electioneering like the promise to review parking ticket procedures. Apparently it was serious. Oh well.
“Taliban”? – I sure hope you’re kidding Bucky… They *lobbied* for this – they didn’t blow up a 200 foot high Buddha set into the side of a mountain because they were worried about his influence, nor, y’know, take hostages and cut someone’s friggin’ head off…
You win some you lose some – the same goes for bike lanes… learn to deal with your loses and know that you’ll be back to fight another day… Really – was this worth getting arrested over?
