This year, Macy’s screwed Brooklyn out of Fourth of July fireworks by staging the annual pyrotechnic display on the Hudson River to the delight of crowds in New Jersey and on Manhattan’s west side. It offered residents in that part of town some striking new perspectives. These photos, so stunning they almost look fake, were taken from a rooftop on 43rd Street and 9th Avenue.
