Legendary graffiti artist REVS recently installed a new sculpture on Water Street in DUMBO. Nearby another mural and sculpture, the new sculpture replaces a previous metal work, one of many pieces that disappeared off the street in a short period after the Times interview with the reclusive artist in 2005. As noted by photographer Jake Dobkin, there are “at least 11 bolts holding this one down, plus whatever else he’s hidden,†so the new piece is a bit more secure.

It's a shame that photos like this give away the location. It's part of his art to have people randomly come across his pieces.
This piece was one of only a handful that were ever displayed in a gallery. He is a very talented artist and we all owe him a dept of gratitude for giving his art to all of us rather than just selling it.
