For the Fall issue of Purple magazine, Sean Lennon appears in a recreation of his parents’ famous 1981 Rolling Stone cover, their last photo together by financially troubled photographer Annie Leibovitz. The new snap by Terry Richardson features Sean in his mother’s place while nude model Kemp Muhl fills in for his dead father. See the semi-NSFW homage below.

That's hot!
I've seen commenters question Dash Snow's credibility on this site, but Sean Lennon has NONE. I understand that he hangs out with some hip cats in downtown, but his creative output sucks. All he can do is front off of his parents, which the Richardson photo totally captures.
diz, well-said.
that's a terrible photo. not even good. he looks awful. she looks lost. boring.
She is a hottie that is just getting paid to do a job, just as any model would be doing, as it is their job. Sean, on the other hand, is wasting creative juices, and should perhaps go to Goa, India and spend some time meditating. He NEEDS to focus on getting his brain to a creative level that is at least a quarter of what his Dads was prior to trying to pull off something remotely Lennonish, or creatively bent towards the Lennon/Beatles art. If I was wearing his shoes, I would find something of a goal or cause, then, utilize his own creative genes to accomplish that mission or cause. Hey, why not help us out down here in Florida where we are trying to legalize medical marijuana for those who need it…I would love to have him do a promo for our cause! Dad John would have been proud of that movement and support the cause! http://www.pufmm.org Hey Sean, S.W. Florida is nice this time of year, come on down anytime, I have a five bedroom house, with plenty of space with just my wife and I here full time…
Sean has put out some good music and played bass, drums and guitar on lots of other peoples cool songs. I have seen him 4 times and he always puts on a good show. He's not trying to make Beatles/John Lennon music, but music of his own. His new band the Ghost of the Sabre Tooth Tiger is awesome and a lot of the artists he has signed to his Chimera record label sound damn good too. Just because he is famous and talented you don't need to put him down. Get a life that photos is hot ! Just because he isn't clean shaven is really missing the point.
Right on Mark H.
Well, at least that bird is way more photogenic than his mom. /ducks
I feel for Sean. It must be incredibly hard to have your father be John Lennon, and not only just John Lennon, but a John Lennon who died at his legendary, revolutionary peak. I think we should give him a break. He may never be what his father was. He may have come from his loins, but at the end of the day, he's a completely different person.
About the photo, though–it really is a shoddy attempt at recreating a profound piece of art. There's no getting around that. It is bland and common. It's lacking the vulnerability and purity the original had. Whenever I critique, I try to think of ways to make it better. Honestly, I think the solution is that this photo shouldn't have even been attempted.
i agree with the majority of comments. the original photo captured the love between john and yoko. the lens told the truth. sean's picture lacks any substance and depth. all in a day's work. i wish for him in his lifetime to experience the great love his father got to experience. that cannot be duplicated.
I can see his pants goooiing uup!
