roerich1Police have arrested a Brooklyn couple in connection with the art thefts that brought some relevancy to the Nicholas Roerich museum last month. 35-year-old Denis Ryjenko and his girlfriend, 42-year-old Natella Croussouloudis, were arrested after showing their freshly filched work to an informant who helpfully set them up to try and sell the $125,000 painting to an undercover cop at Starbucks. Somewhat insultingly, the other painting taken from the unguarded Upper West Side museum was actually sent back after the thief had some time to look it over. |NYP|
