Earlier today, upon hearing the news of his death, the legendary Apollo Theater in Harlem posted a tribute to Michael Jackson on their iconic marquee. Unfortunately, they got his birth year wrong by 15 years. He was born in 1958 and by ’79 had already put out one of his best selling albums: “Off the Wall.”

Perhaps they just meant the years he was at the Apollo? (which actually doesn't make chronological sense since the jackson 5 gained fame there, but I tried)
