These days, what’s more joyous…than banking? In this Utopian new spot by Euro RSCG Helsinki for Santander, the largest bank in the euro area, the $30 billion behemoth implores ever-poorer citizens to “live more.” Easy for you to say! It does so with quirky, beautifully-shot vignettes, including: a staircase Slinky race conducted by rich old white businesspeople; a butler doing a bicycle-kick headstand behind a rich lady sipping tea; and a woman hanging herself from a clothesline by her hair (ouch). Everything’s happy-go-lucky, until the Santander consumer finance tag ending reminds me that the main reason I am currently not able to “live more” is because of the greed of bankers. What fucking hubris. Jump for 60 seconds of pure bank marketing malarkey.
