Biologists are worried that barriers being built along the U.S.-Mexico border, that were designed to keep out hard working illegal immigrants, also have the potential to restrict the movements of wildlife. Several types of animals could be affected by the “700-mile security wall,” including pygmy owls and bighorn sheep. Like human populated towns in the South, the fence could further isolate the species and thereby reduce genetic diversity, potentially leaving them embittered (and paranoid). |ScienceDaily|

who cares if they're "hard working" or not? i'm not against immigration and i love my illegal mexican friends (cooks at a restaurant i worked at for years), but really, reckless illegal immigration needs to be curbed in one way or another. i'm not sure if a wall is the way to go, but your "hard working" comment implies that we should let everyone and their mother into our country no questions asked so that they can "work hard", yet not pay taxes and still take part in our school and medical systems. for free.
