Finland has become the first country in the world to declare high-speed internet access to be a legal right for its citizens. Laura Vilkkone, Finland’s Ministry of Transport and Communications said this about the matter: “We think it’s something you cannot live without in modern society. Like banking services or water or electricity, you need Internet connection…Universal service is every citizen’s subjective right.” Wow.
