Canadian Fisheries Minister Gets Tofu’d By PETA

To protest Canada’s brutal seal hunting policies, a PETA activist from NYC pushed a tofu pie into the face of Oceans and Fisheries Minister Gail Shea at a press conference in Ontario on Monday. The woman was promptly arrested and faces assault charges. Shea shrugged off the incident and said the baby-seal killing fun will proceed.

Discounting A Picasso Made Easy

Hailed as one the greatest painters of our time, works by Pablo Picasso typically sell for tens and hundreds of millions, unless that is, they’re damaged by clumsy people. A woman who accidentally fell into one of the the famed artist’s paintings at the Met, putting a 6-inch tear in it, just reduced its value by half according to a “top appraiser” quoted in the Post. Now it’s only worth a measly $65 mill! |NYP|

The Art Newspaper’s Banksy Fact-Checking Not So Accurate

According to The Art Newspaper, officials have buffed a lot of Banksy’s work in Park City and Salt Lake, which is true, EXCEPT for the cameraman piece they posted with their article, the only one located on private property. The Daily Show Slams Obama for Using a Teleprompter in a 6th Grade Classrooom

One of the things conservatives love to deride President Obama over is his use of a teleprompter when delivering public speeches. While much of this is petty nonsense seeing that most modern politicians use them, setting up two teleprompters to give a speech to a group of 6th graders is pretty ridiculous, thus, Jon Stewart weighed in with ridicule last night. Or maybe, Skippy the Bush Kangaroo. Why do ad agencies hate animals so much? They hate cheetahs, hippos, birds, and even ants, just to point out a few recent cases of Photoshop abuse. Now, to coincide with Australia Day (today), GlaxoSmithKline, via Sydney ad agency Whybin/TBWA, has digitally jammed cancer sticks into the mouths of an emu and a ‘roo (click ads) to help sell their Nicabate pre-quit nicotine patches. Why? Read more »

Diddy Gives Son Justin Dior Combs A 350k Maybach for Sweet 16

Justin Dior Combs (Yes, that’s actually his middle name) turned sixteen over the weekend, so, naturally, his father Diddy had to do it up Diddy-style, so he bought him a $350,000 Maybach. Justin was gifted with the car at M2 Ultralounge in New York over the weekend (Sandra Rose has a bunch of pics from the party), where the shindig was filmed for an upcoming MTV reality show “My Super Sweet Sixteen.” With that said, it’s possible that MTV footed some of the bill for the ride, but I’m still going to predict that Diddy will be this generation’s MC Hammer in about 10 years. |Celebuzz|
