Sleepy TSA Worker (Almost)Terminated

Napping_TSA_worker Damn. It looks like the TSA is going to make an example out of their agent who was caught snoozing in a public area and has decided to terminate the worker according to an anonymous source. We’ve also learned that she began her shift at 4AM and that her boss was furious after learning about the photo. Update: She’s in the process of being fired, which requires a review by several personnel, and she’ll have the opportunity to appeal.

She starts her shift at 4AM after possibly finishing another shift from some other shitty job; so she can just barely pay rent and the heating bill'; then some self righteous prick with a cell phone camera and a blog snaps a photo of her "napping in public"- oh the horror- and she loses her job. You should be proud. Another example of feigned outrage over something completely benign. Maybe a great follow up story would be for you to find her on the unemployment line and discuss why you felt compelled to publish this photo in the first place. I'd love to take the photo of her knocking your ass out.

good. If the bitch is sleepy, she best take a nap in her car or in the breakroom.

There's PLENTY of unemployed folks I'm sure who can follow the rules. Sleeping on the jobe in public is not benign. It sends a bad message pure and simple.

Wow. Without having any real information about this woman, people on this blog and elsewhere have described her as a poverty stricken over worked mother with two jobs. Romerocker has decided "she can just barely pay rent"

Maybe she's just a lazy bitch. Maybe she was out whoring at a club all night. Maybe she's drunk. These guesses are as possible as any depicting her as the angel of mercy.

I don't worry about anyone taking photos of me sleeping while I'm at work because, like most people, I DON'T FUCKING SLEEP AT WORK.

We can only hope that this poor overworked woman can find a good job that will allow her to get the sleep she needs.

    maybe it was narcolepsy..

  5. Joe Hill

Hehe, "I DON"T FUCKING SLEEP AT WORK." Well aren't you just every manager's precious little gold star employee of the month.

Mr. Turco, I think your talents are wasted here. Now that James O'Keefe got himself arrested, there should be a spot opening up with the fine Breitbart organization.

  6. Fuck that he did the right thing. SLEEPING ON THE JOB= FIRED.

  7. sangesangel

She was sleeping on the job, simple as that, she deserves to be terminated regardless if she was on break or not. The seating is for the public who are paying customers first of all, second they have break rooms if she was on break she should have used it instead of being so unprofessional, and third are we forgetting that she is with TSA, feel safe with the bitch sleeping and not paying attention, Romerocker?

    happy now you Rat Bastard?

    A break is a break.

  10. PEOPLE WHATS WITH ALL THE CRYIN ABOUT FOR THIS WOMAN? IF YOU PEOPLE CANT SEE WHAT SHE DID WRONG THEN I GUESS YOU GUYS ARE A BUNCH OF JACKASSES. THIS WOMAN PUTS PEOPLE LIVES AT RISK WHEN TAKING A CAT NAP. IF THIS LADY WORKED FOR ME I WOULD HAVE FIRED HER ASS ALONG TIME AGO. SLEEPING ON THE JOB = FIRED.

    @Joe Hill

Hehe, Well aren’t you just every manager’s precious little gold star employee of the month.

Maybe where you work (if you work), remaining awake is all thats required to be a "gold star employee of the month". At my job it's pretty much a requirement. And that includes breaks. Passing out during a 15-30 minute break is a pretty bad sign, regardless of what time you started your shift.

  12. dough

this just makes Bucky look douchier than ever. Sorry, dog, but trying to get some lady on her break fired from her $10/hr job while some trustfundy williamsburger with a blog gets you fired for no reason is NOT DOING ANYBODY ANY GOOD.

@ bdgbill: Empathy seems to be your strong suit.

@ sangeangel- "and third are we forgetting that she is with TSA, feel safe with the bitch sleeping and not paying attention, Romerocker?" Yes, because I don't fear terrorism/ts at all; I'd much rather take my chances with my freedoms in tact than have to deal with cosmetic security procedures designed to keep the likes of you feeling "safe" from the big bad boogie man. Terrorists get one lucky punch and I have to deal with a nation full of reactionaries wanting daddy to protect them.

@suck my dick: really? she's putting people's lives at risk? Good lord you must love Fox News. What the fuck are you so scared of? You are more likely to get hit by a bus than to be a victim of terrorism-with or without Homeland Security patting you down every time you want to go back to home to mommy and daddy's house in Iowa.

@ Dough said it better than I.

You wouldn't walk a mile in anyone's shoes,so before I judge, make sure that your own hands are clean.

  15. Artie

How hard is it to understand that if you fall asleep on the job, you get fired? Seems simple to anyone with a job.

The greater issue is that TSA workers have less credentials and skills than a typical fast food employee and as a result do tend to be overworked and underpaid. Regardless of how you feel about terrorism etc., this is an important job. So maybe the bar needs to be raised a little. Just saying.

  16. Oh no! From the posting it looks like taking a short nap can cost one a job. If the person was suffering from lack of sleep, CPAP masks would surely help her out.

  17. Heya i?m for the primary time here. I came across this board and I in finding It truly helpful & it helped me out much. I hope to offer one thing again and aid others such as you aided me.
