LADY PINK Sanctified By Art Collective

Rochester’s The Sweetmeat Co. created an art piece depicting female graffiti pioneer LADY PINK as a saint that was based in part on a NYC subway photo taken by Martha Cooper back in 1982. And while she normally doesn’t like when people use her work without her permission, in this case, is more than willing to absolve the artists of her wrath. Compare with the original photograph below.

Sweetmeat is amazing. Rochester's art scene is definitely worth checking out.

  3. Great concept! That Lady Pink photo has been referred to a lot, and so has the Lady of Guadalupe – what a funny pun.
