Sarah Palin’s “Hopey Changey” Message Isn’t Even Original
“Real American” and eventual presidential candidate, Sarah Palin, riled up her Conservative base during a rousing $100k speech at the Tea Party Convention in Nashville this weekend. Although she peppered the crowd with lots of sound bites, the big take-away of the evening was this line: “How’s that hopey, changey thing working out for ya?.” But, as authentic and Palinesque as that eloquent message sounded, it’s not original! The slogan appeared as a bumper sticker and t-shirt on Zazzle back in early 2009.

SO WHAT???
@Fred: Sorry, but when a political figure recycles cheesy bumper sticker slogans, it’s relevant, same for when she writes basic fundamental talking points on her hand: http://bit.ly/9knmBR
in in early 2009
@Bucky, agreed. And it’s hilarious that she had to write out those few, generic, exceedingly simple topics, so as not to forget them. And that it’s not OK for Rahm to say ‘retard’ but it is for Rush. And that America needs “divine intervention.” And that her foreign policy consists entirely of “we win, they lose.” Hilarious. And fucking frightening.
I’ll tell you what is frightening. Liberals who would bankrupt the US simply so they can “win” on health care reform. Health care reform can be accomplished by three things:
1. Tort reform. Get lawyers out of health care.
2. Allow all medical insurance companies to sell health insurance in all 50 states. Competition.
3. Create a 501c3 organization which grants funds to those who cannot afford health insurance. This way liberals who want health care for the uninsured can make tax deductable donations to support uninsured. Unfortunately, liberals don’t want to spend THEIR money on health care, they want to spend MY money on health care.
@fred
sorry, your money? are you the only person that pays taxes?
what kind of insurance do you have? i ‘m curious.
My wife works in the administrative office in a medical clinic and has for 22 years. I work in my third career and we pay taxes in the 30% range. We have full coverage because we have worked for it. Is that good enough for you?
way to avoid the question! just like a republican!
what’s your insurance? who covers the bill if you are in the hospital?
My current insurance carrier is Anthem and I have never been in the hospital. That means all the premiums I have paid in the last 40 years have gone to pay the bills of others and when it is my turn, I will have my bills paid by them. What’s your point or do you have one? Or are you the typical liberal who doesn’t need a point to get nasty?
fRED, No, I don’t think liberals are trying to simply “win” on healthcare, or would bankrupt the system. While many dems are just as corrupt as your team, I don’t think the White House has an agenda other than to truly and honestly get this healthcare debacle up to (the developed) world standards. But, really, you would prefer Palin in the White House to Obama? You didn’t expressly say it, but that’s the vibe I get. Is this true? Or if not, who in 2012 would you prefer to see lead this country, im curious?
You don’t think Obama’s multi-trillion deficit in just one year will not bankrupt the US? What will the next three years bring? The official national debt is now over 12 trillion dollars. In actuality if you add social security and medicare debt the actual national debt is closer to 75 trillion. If you don’t think this debt is going to be a problem you are a lot more trusting than I am. By the way if you personally tried to spend yourself out of bankruptsy as this president is trying to do the judge would laugh you out of the courtroom.
I am a conservative, not a Republican. Mitt Romney or Mike Huckabee with Sara Palin as a running mate. Sara Palin is trainable just like any other politician. I think liberals jump all over Palin becase they are afraid of her popularity. Would she make as good a president as Obama? Tell me exactly what experience Obama has that makes him a good leader. He was elected on emotion not experience. Liberals operate on emotion not logic.
And just for the record I was NOT happy with George Bush and his fiscal policy. He also spent too much.
Bucky-face the facts-America loves a fake. Whether it is a president or a fancy handbag we eat that shiz up. At least we know she can read. Personally, I’m votin for President Camacho.
Her “if God didn’t want us to eat animals then why are they made of meat” quip came from a billboard in AK. I wonder what slogan she’ll quote next!
So..the “hopey changey” comment wasn’t original. To quote Craig Ferguson…I KNOOOOOW! But did I miss the part where Palin said “I just made this up yesterday”? Hey, why are you guys so afraid of her? If you weren’t, why you would spend so much time going after her? None of you can engage in issues and facts. Liberals are left with personal attacks.
Now on health care. GET THIS STRAIGHT!…There is nothing wrong with America’s health CARE! I am personally very familiar with Canada’s system (now that I live there) Be careful what you ask for…you might get it. If the USA creates anything even close to Canada’s system, you will lose health CARE. Don’t confuse a “system” with “care”. Fix what doesn’t work. Don’t throw away the best health care in the world.
We have the worst health care of any developed ( any many less developed) country in the world. We pay more per capita than France, Italy, “Canada” (and yes I have lived there also), Germany, Japan, and nearly 100 more countries. Singapore established wealth in the late “90s and surveyed the world to develope a national health care system. The US was not ever considered in their research. We are the only country that operates the way we do. The insurance industry is the main reason for the problem hands down. All but a few other countries even have health insurance companies, did you all know that? Yes tort reform is necessary, more discression by the medical profession of course, but the uninsured now visit emergency rooms; the smart ones via ambulance so they dont wait when they arrive. There are more than 50 million uninsured Americans. There are nearly none in Canada. Our health care premiums have tripled in the past 10 years. You cant hide from it. SINGLE PAYER. Each American would pay less than $2,000 per year. Do your research and do the math. Visit an insurance company sky scraper and study their balance sheet. It is quite obvious that this industry must go away.
Oh, and also, I am not afraid of any politician especially Sarah. I am in dire fear of the American people and who they vote for. There are no real choices except Rep or Dem, and I am embarrassed that we have come to this. If society were more primitive (like the 19th century) we would surely have another civil war. No I did not nor could I even fathom voting for Bush or Cheney. I say give Obama a chance. Clinton did actually put us cash flow positive after the Reagan / Bush Sr. recession of the early ’90s; remember?
There is a big difference between Clinton and Obama. Clinton was a centrist. Obama and his entire administration are progressive/Marxist. Obama wants change and that change is to the extreme far left. There is no doubt in my mind that if Obama could create a crisis large enough he would do his best to make the US a Socialist/Marxist country ie a country run by the government. Obama says he is not an idealogue but that is a lie. Note the return to his obsession with health care from job creation in just one short week.
Fred, tort reform wouldn’t save us a dime. We already have tort reform in several states, and have reported little savings from the effort. Any doctor will tell you this.
Also, we know you’re also posting from sMART-aLEX.
I’m glad you think that I am posting using another name but that just shows me that you haven’t got a clue. I have NOT posted on this site using any other name than fRED smith. Show me where tort reform is not effective. Post a link proving your point.
fRED:
just curious … if your daughter started dating a black man how would you react?
It is trending towards Japan-like status, but relatively slowly, to the point where we won’t get to where Japan is today for decades. And because Japan isn’t sitting still on this front, by the time we look like the Japan of today, the contemporary Japan will look a lot worse.
Anthony:
What has that got to do with the topic at hand? Just want to push some buttons? See what you get? What’s YOUR point?
Anthony:
I think I get your point. All conservatives are racists, right?
