Neue Galerie New York presents: the first North American solo exhibition of painter artist Otto Dix (of Salon o’ syphilitic aging nymphs and that Sylvia Von Harden portrait we all know to know). More than a hundred paintings will be on view. Exhibition will include the German artist’s visual representations of the “golden” Weimar Republic years “exposing with unsparing and wicked with the instability and contradictions of the time,” contextualized with the later “veiled” Third Reich protest work, traumatic WWI experiences and religious, allegorical and sexual themes.
