Sequential Fun with Stuff and OK GO

go

Good morning. Let me start by geeking out over today’s “big deal” – Ok Go’s “This Too Shall Pass” video. Because just watching it nurtures/soothes a plethora of neurotic disorders. Look at all those thingies go… ahhh.

Sure, their music is too cuddly for my taste. I don’t even care that some dork on YouTube figured out where there are hidden cuts proving that it’s not one single take. This ain’t the Russian Ark, people. It’s still very good.

And as for the superfluous stink about ripping of a Honda commercial? You might as well credit Pee Wee Herman’s breakfast machine. Or Loony Tunes. Or Saw. The credit’s right in the music video title – “Rude Goldberg Version,” the original, the one and only, crafty 1940′s Goldberg.

The cheery video ditty proves that even decade overripe fads live on and on. No, not the Rube Goldberg machines (those are nifty fun) — the fluffy pop rock survival via temporarily amusing YouTube circus antics.
