Earlier, Ryan McGinley’s had M.I.A. jumping through basketball hoops and prancing around NYC’s impromptu street fires. After Lynn Hirschberg’s NYT feature presented M.I.A. as a bourgeois, under-informed political poseur (even giving M.I.A.’s ex Diplo a chance to rag on her “terrorist shtick”), M.I.A. got all mad and Tweeted the journalist’s personal cell number. Counterproductive: The story picked even more steam since. Hey, at least she still looks cute in the pictures. See them below.
