Atelier van Lieshout’s “Infernopolis” installation stuffs a giant submarine quay with sculptures from plasticine nightmares. There’s a bit of faceless flesh from the The Wall, a bit of Boschian body horror, a medical tableaux, organs as dwelling spaces, cells as separate species, people as factory products, a firing penis parade and lots of tubes, paint and plaster to pull it together. See, we’re all one big organic machine. We’re gross! “Infernopolis,” Atelier van Lieshout, May 29 – Sep 26, Museum Boijmans van Beuningen, Rotterdam
