Dealing another blow to creationists, researchers say they’ve discovered the primordial sperm gene shared by just about every living organism in the animal kingdom. Scientists have long theorized about a common ancestor, but not a common origin for sperm. Although similar, each is specific to its species, otherwise things could get really dicey. Stem cell smart person Renee Reijo Pera explains: “If a human could produce an egg that could be fertilized by a monkey it would be really bad.” |Wired|
