Could BP’s destruction of the United States get any more depressing? Yes. After bowing to political pressure yet again, BP has agreed to broadcast a live, high definition video feed of the oil as it infinitely spews out of their broken well and now it looks more apocalyptic than ever.

can't we stretch Tony Hayward's asshole around the leak to stop it?
Better still, stretch all of the American assholes who drive pointless gassguzzlers around the leak, oh, and let's also use the corrupt American politicians who have shares in Halliburton and pocket lobbyist backhanders. It's not BP you cunts, it's your constitutional, flag waving Americans who are to blame. Wake up.
I love how everyone's always bitching about the "American consumer driving gas-guzzling SUVs!!" around. If you have kids who go to afterschool activities and such (I don't but I'm guessing) you need a larger vehicle. Not to mention that most American urban areas are underserved by public transportation, if they have any at all. Just compare that with Europe, where public transportation is cheap, clean, efficient and available almost everywhere. But people in this country are mostly idiots, so instead of demanding that either (a) the government provide greater public transportation options or (b) the government allow private firms to establish public transportation infrastructure and services in underserved markets, they just lie there and let the mainstream media put the blame for BP's criminal negligence on the "American consumer".
Better yet, hold BP accountable.
I would have expected that Bucky Turco, and AnimalNewYork would have been less naive – it appears not.
Despite choosing to be media-types, in their opining they have apparently missed the point in now being the perfect timing for US politicians to capitalize on finding a common enemy for effective electioneering; after all there aren't many countries left to destroy with foreign policy (Iraq, Afghanistan, Mexico & Jamaica,) nor are there many "undocumented alien" teenagers to shoot dead, without losing the US losing face.
Enter stage right – BP – the new and improved United States' common enemy. Admittedly, BP should have responded sooner, and it's CEO should have thought before speaking. But, the US leadership has all of a sudden developed amnesia, and the US is buying it quicker than you can say "Fox News Corporation," or indeed "Kari's Gorgeous Brain."
Forgetful are the politicians that 64% of BP's workforce are US citizens. Forgetful are they that BP was drilling on a contract for the US. Forgetful are they that due to the US combined bid system for foreign based corporations, they had to use Halliburton, and one of the very few licensed experts for the US, Transocean – 100% of whose workforces were American citizens, doing American business, for the American Government. Yes, dear cunts, the Devil never goes anywhere he's/she's not invited…
As to the good people of the United States, (and aside from the aforementioned points, which anyone who has the right to single out BP should already know,) they apparently haven't noticed the rhetoric (read diatribe) of their beloved President, in his being completely at odds with his actions. For two weeks after the disaster, Obama used his bully pulpit to drive home the point that BP was completely at fault and that BP was completely responsible for efforts to turn around the environmental disaster, only to turn on a sixpence suddenly ans assert that he and his team had been fully in control the entire time, only then to turn once more to assert that BP is entirely responsible, for everything, even for employees being laid off who worked for the sub-contractors who in turn also all failed in their due diligence.
What the beloved American population also haven't noticed, is that there are very separate challenges to capping the oil spillage, and clearing up the spilt oil ans restoring the beaches, marshlands and wildlife back to their former state. The capping exercise was certainly best left to the technologists who drill the oil, but the failures of the administration in not taking charge and coordinating the long term clean up and restorations are glaringly obvious to even the most plebeian foreigner. Why is it that the media (animalnewyork included) allow the administration to lie, and instead of demanding what's right, indulge in a continuous witch-hunt of the sort of absurdity not witnessed since McCarthyism prevailed here?
Come on people, don't be so naive, for once! Wake up and make the administration accountable. Make Halliburton and Transocean accountable as well. Oh, and with 36 major oil disasters globally since 1967, (increasing in frequency correlated to demand, and most of which we have never recovered from,) and if you really care, perhaps it's time stop being such bovines and walk/bike more or drive a smaller car. Demand better Urban Planning even? Ever stopped to think what pulling all of this oil out of the planet is doing to the planet, it's stability, it's ability to rotate and keep us all planted? No, probably not, methinks.
You don't need an Earth Destroyer MkIII to take the kids to school, other countries do it with cars a third of the size, if you think you do, you're just being cunts!
Urgent – Now
Here is what has been proposed to BP and multiple media sources for over a month (see link 1). – can not sleep watching this global disaster take place, unabated while there are solutions. It is unfathomable why this is allowed to continue.
Warning: As you may concur – We do not have time to wait for relief wells in August ( may be more like November and may not work) , by that time the Gulf will be a dead sea, Florida beaches and Everglades will be black (more like orange goo), oil/dispersant mix headed north to wipe out east coast killing all life in it’s path. There will be stench of rotting animal life and toxic air which will promote respiratory disease and cancer. When there is a hurricane it will “paint” the inland with slime and goo which will then be unlivable – We most stop those responsible for exacerbating this unmitigated global disaster NOW . God help us – amen ..
The information described herein is submitted for broadcast and/or publication – thank you
Sincerely,
Michael Gruters
Immediate action (fix) – The”riser pipe” or stack that fell to ocean floor is mounted with by (6) hex bolts to a mating flange at the top of the BOP, this would be replaced by a new riser and flange (see link 2) – making a leak-less seal to the surface collection operation.
note: BS from BP claims no room for another collection tankers because “too crowded” ? – so they are now going to burn it and pollute the atmosphere as well…
These suggestions are on record at EPA (see link 1) at BP engineering for over a month -
1) – Stop Leak Now (SLN) Simplest Fix – Replace old flange and broken (now cut) pipe at top of BOP – has “(6) hex nuts”,– with new flange and associated pipe to surface.Unscrewing “hex nuts” and replacing with new outer flange. This is similar proceedure to when well was first installed (2001). This should make non leaking connection to surface collection. Once again do not use dispersant into leaking oil so can be collected by tankers at at surface – where are they ?
This could have been done after the smoke cleared (day 2) and this disaster avoided …
p.s. It is unfathomable why this was not done.
2) – Oil Collection Now – using newley designed Oil Containment Rings OCR’s – Need to be installed Now
This will stop further damage and start to remove prior oil pollution. – also of course there should be a floatilla of tankers/barges collecting surface and submerged oil – where are they ? If we collect 99% of the oil being leaked – then bp can take time to kill the well.
Start to build a “oil collection ring” flotation miles in diameter which has large booms (100′ by 6′ diameters)with deep aprons that zipper together as they extend deep(300′ or more) below the surface (this happens physically as aprons on modules are zipped) and capture the rising oil leak – which is continually pumped into tankers/barges – circumvent first ring with a second and so on as needed. Do not use any dispersant – pump out water separation from collected oil. of all the things that BP does wrong – the use of dispersant is the worst ! Stop it Today. Aside from the toxicity the collection and containment of oil from the surface is far easier as to almost impossible submerged !
3) – Seal Well Now (SWN) – drill +1000′ parallel proximity shaft – place proper amount of explosives – seal new shaft – detonate !
conventional explosive are well understood and should be adequate to blow bedrock through a 21″ shaft – how about tunnels through mountains or Hover Dam !
suggested nuclear explosion is absolutely ludicrous and at least 1000 times overkill . This could fracture the seabed floor collapsing into oil reserve and releasing 25,000 square miles of oil.
Warning: We do not have time to wait for relief wells is August ( may be more like November and may not work) , by that time the Gulf will be a dead sea, Florida beaches and Everglades will be black (more like orange goo), oil/dispersant mix headed north to wipe out east coast killing all life in it’s path. There will be stinch smell of rotting animal life and toxic air which will be promote respiratory disease and cancer. When there is a hurricane it will “paint the inland with slime and glue which will then be unlivable – We most stop those responsible NOW . God help us – amen..
