Artist Takesha Murata likes to datamosh. He also likes Popeye, the stroke-voiced, spinach-addicted cartoon folk hero of yore. So, he made a fancy, six minute CGI adventure I, Popeye (2010). As far stills tell, it’s a slick, grim (Grimm?) tale of Olive loss, clock smashing, industrialization and presumably, suicide. It’s also breaking the copyright law.
