Buju just can’t catch a break. Although his cocaine trial will start Monday after numerous delays spanning several months, it’s being reported that both his co-defendants will now turn state’s evidence and testify against him in exchange for reduced sentences. Superstar defense lawyer David Oscar Markus will argue that the government entrapped his client with an informant who basically makes a living working for the DEA and was paid $35,000 to help snag the dancehall legend.
Despite all the obstacles, his attorney says that his client is innocent, telling the Observer: “This is a federal court and we are as confident as you can be in a federal court. Buju is innocent and we are hoping the jury will see through the Government’s charade.” Free Buju!

"His attorney notes an informant involved with the case has been paid $3.3 million working with law enforcement over several years"
That's not 'basically making a living', that's getting rich by professionally entrapping people on drug charges so that the drug war can roll on and on…
I wonder how the law enforcement thugs this rat works with feel about a scumbag CI making a bigger paycheck them they do. I hope it burns them up inside.
I hope it's enough to create a reasonable doubt in this jury's mind. The odds are definitely stacked against, but I do hope he wins and then goes home and makes a record and wins the Grammy he should have. Free Buju!

The following time I read a weblog, I hope that it doesnt disappoint me as a lot as this one. I mean, I know it was my choice to learn, but I truly thought youd have one thing fascinating to say. All I hear is a bunch of whining about one thing that you could possibly repair in the event you werent too busy on the lookout for attention.
