Starting in June, the DOT will begin its $500-million overhaul of the Brooklyn Bridge. Manhattan-bound lanes will be closed during weeknights and on weekends, which should create hellish traffic for just about everyone as drivers flee to other East River crossings and even more cyclists navigate across the already tourist-congested bike lane. |Brooklyn Paper|

"and even more cyclists navigate across the already tourist-congested bike lane."
Why you'd ride the Brooklyn B over the far easier and the never congested Manhattan B is beyond me…
@cr: I wonder the same, having ridden both last week, but yeah it happens. Despite the pulsating crowd of tourists often seen running across the bike lane, cyclists still use it, a lot!
… and on Sex and the City intro? Why did they bring balloons to the bridge? I don't get it.
I'm a single female in new york and I walk across the bridge with numerous balloons at least once a week. its good for crows feet.
@ sarah. I stand corrected. Please let me know when you go next time.
done and done.
