Eater heard correctly and the rumors are no longer rumors, Max Fish is closing. I spoke to an employee at the venerable Lower East Side dive bar and fast crowd hangout that recently turned 21. He confirmed that the location will close at the end of January, but didn’t have too many specifics about whether or not it would be relocated, explaining: “I just clean the toilets.”

im always baffled when new yorkers are so "shocked" by massive change. europeans who raped and pillaged a race of people, native americans, took over this country. nyc is the epitome of that. if you look at the history of nyc, and i mean before 5 points, gangs of ny, you'll find much of the same. white european men decimated a race of people, in order to build new york. Gentrification happens everyday here. its not new. what i find most interesting now is that the white man is getting pushed out by big corporations. chase banks, starbucks, duan reade etc… So a great topic would be what comes after the corporations take over?
