Now that New Jersey did it will New York become the next state to legalize medical weed? With all the dysfunction in Albany, it’s hard to believe that anything can get done, but there are some measures currently floating around, offering a glimmer of hope, despite the leanings of Michael Long, chairman of the state’s Conservative Party.
He actually said “there is no medical proof that marijuana assists anyone anyway.” Really? Dude must not read much. And if that were true, then why does it have the support of these people?: Medical Society of the State of New York, the New York State Nurse’s Association, the Hospice and Palliative Care Association of New York, the StateWide Senior Action Council. |City Room|
Ignorance is Hate. And there exists way to much ignorance in this FREE(?) country. Herb is more than a medicine it is a fantastic cooking ingrediant. And so much more. The truth is that those that think they have the power to control are weak minded lying assholes who should be publicaly shunned by the free world. Solutions come from an ability to bend with the wind. Those that stand unmoving are just obsticals to peaceful, enviromentally friendly answers to the most pressing issues facing our species. If New York doesn't change it will be left behind.

Why would any conservative support the anti-marijuana laws? That's a prime example of government overstepping itself and interfering in individual choice and personal responsibility. If he were a Republican, then I could see that maybe he's one of those neo-con globalist conspirators who want to preserve international syndicates' power, but chairman of the Conservative Party of NY? He should be tarred and feathered by his own party for supporting such a massive stretch of the Commerce Clause in terms of the federal laws, and for supporting the nanny state for the NY laws.
Legalize it! If it's bad, only those using it will suffer the consequence. Either way, legalization would create new wealth for New Yorkers.
