Re-imagining the 1950′s and 1960′s through a contemporary zeitgeist, David Lyle paints “a time of blissful naivity and dim-witted prejudice” in black paint and turpentine. Calling on influences by Warhol and Truffaut, Lyle creates a metaphorical, cinematic canvases, working with found vintage materials, family photos and a bit of humor.
