An iPhone blasted with a handgun and a cluster of iPods smashed by a train, photographed in all their gooey, sulfuric, iridescent glory were on view at the SF Live Worm’s Gallery over the weekend. Designer Michael Tompert is a little fuzzy on why he bought up these pricey toys and killed them: “It’s not about destroying old products. It’s about our relationship with the new,” he says. Should have just said, “Because it looks awesome. Viola. Art.”
