Despite a brewing undercurrent of hate for Shepard Fairey’s Deitch mural amongst many of NYC’s graffiti writers, he can still count on a few vandals to have his back. COPE2 dropped by the street artist’s wall and having recently partnered with him in the Bronx, painted the outside edge along with EWOK and INDIE. Someone else left a not so supportive message for Shep, see it below.

seriously Bucky can we get a little LESS coverage of shepard fairey? dont get me wrong i love his art but this last week or so has been overkill.

I've been following your coverage of shepard fairey vandalism rather eagerly these past few days. nuts to the haters.
this is not validating anything in my opinion. This looks like a cheap street PR campaign by OBEY after the graffiti public voiced their opinion about the current mural on Houston. Wonder how much Obey Co. paid Cope2. Probably a $G. lol.
cope2, ewok, and indie also have like zero respect in the graffiti world…
you prolly just have to buy cope2 lunch and he'll do it, beats selling his "tagz" on ebay to losers from europe looking to cop some "graffiti history".
by the way, i was there when they buffed the illlll os gemeos piece with white house paint for this. so ridiculous.
shep has good designers and mexican wheatpasters. thats all.
