Fort_logan_national_cemetery_5 Today is Memorial Day. Originally hailed as Decoration Day, it was born out of a tradition in the North, whereby people commemorated Union soldiers by decorating their graves, but was later expanded to include other wars and honor all veterans who served honorably and lost their lives in service of the country.
