A raccoon, which could have rabies, was seen roaming around the lower levels of the Brooklyn Public Library. Luckily, library staff were on hand to save the facility from the furry trash eater. Spokeswoman Malika Granville describes their bravery: “We have a really fearless group of maintenance workers. They said they weren’t afraid, but they did see him in the building, there was a sighting of him, and they reported it immediately.” |WNYC|

It just doesn't make sense. You people blatantly ignore but accept raging crackheads, bent-nosed politicians, and feces-covered streets as part of your daily backdrop, yet animals not on leashes, or food not served in flashy packaging coupled with a bullshit sales pitch you consider 'abnormal.' Thaaaat's fucked up.
So they "reported it immediately," and that makes them heroes?
Did they also fearlessly throw their trash in a receptacle rather than littering? I'll bet later on, they courageously said "excuse me" after farting.
We are all in awe of these modern-day heroes. They're all like, "It's not even in our job descriptions, but we did it anyway! Now give us the Key to the City!"
