The great-grandson of Russian aristocrat entrepreneur Ivan Morozov sued the Metropolitan Museum of Art over a Paul Cezanne painting yesterday. He says Madame Cezanne in the Conservatory was “wrongfully acquired” and calls dibs. Last year, Mr. Konowaloff also tried to “take back” a Van Gogh from Yale. Well, great-grand-daddy was an art collector. Are these cultural institutions plundering thieves or is Konowaloff trying to weasel himself an art collection?
