At 3.79 million square miles, the United States is a pretty big place, but what if all 300 million of us moved into one state? According to this neat infographic based on Brooklyn’s population density, Americans could all live “comfortably” in an “area the size of New Hampshire” and still have “extra room for parks.” Sounds delightful. |Cartophilia|

Comfortably? It's a nice statistic, but with that many people crammed together in such a small area, considering the consumption, waste, lack of ventilation… the farts alone would kill us.
Sounds horrible. Have you ever tried taking the L train into the city during the morning rush? Like that, but with Hillbillies, Hippies, Mormons, Evangelicals and all the other people I'm glad I don't live anywhere near. Yeah, imagining the entire country condensed into an area the size of New Hampshire and as overpopulated as Brooklyn gives me nightmares.
That's not comfortable. We need less humans here. Why do I live in Brooklyn? Why can't a nice, clean, nature-y place like Westchester have art collectives and brownstones and workshops and cool events like Brooklyn so I could move there and not have to deal with the dirty, crowded subway?
