Oakland’s city council really wants to approve permits for the commercial production of medical weed so that a developer can create a $20 million “business park for the cannabis industry” and a whole lot of revenue in taxes, but there’s one little snag in their plan: the federal government. Attorney General Eric Holder’s strong statement against Prop 19 leading up to the vote and calls from federal agents has forced them to slow their roll. Space-age weed warehouses are gonna have to wait a little while longer.
