Michael Mararian’s Kids Are Not Alright

Artist Michael Mararian is kicking off the new year in disturbing style as he unveils “Youth Parade,” a collection of underage portraits. The New York-based artist’s solo show sees kids modeling their modern influences with slashed up arms, bloody weaponry and college t-shirts. Described as “a wry examination of the societal and familial pressures put on the children of today,” the dark exhibition, rendered in bright acrylic colors, will be displayed at Corey Helford Gallery later this month.
